After the time at the anointed place had elapsed, there was still the question of what to do for the rest of spring break. We still had three days until we had to be back. So we drove to Denver, from our hotel in Steamboat Springs; had a sandwich in a Barnes and Noble; had a completely vapid, road-weary debate about the difference between comic books and graphic novels; and then decided to drive down to the Grand Canyon.
Really. Check out these pictures I took. Of the Grand Canyon. In case you haven't heard of it, it's one of the seven natural wonders of the world. If that sort of thing impresses you, I don't know, I was kind of impressed, but maybe you prefer shopping or something. But I went to the Grand Canyon over spring break. Here's how I reacted when I saw it:
That's awe on my face, in case you couldn't tell, and probably a little bit of drool as well.
Anyway, that was a pretty cool day and a half, and well worth the 10 hour drive. But by no means were we finished. There was still another day and a half, and plus I didn't have money to stay in a hotel. So we decided/ were forced to drive somewhere else.
